Leathem & Laura Thomas for achieving new ladies course records. Charlotte
shot a gross 71 at her home club Styal at the age of just 13 and Laura Thomas, from
Didsbury GC, completed her record round of 72 at Denton, where she is also a
member. Well Done.
Poppy
Finlay who finished first of the girls at the Joanne Morley
Challenge. Poppy from Vicars Cross GC finished with a total of 30 stableford
points followed closely by Gemma Clews from Ashton-on-Mersey GC with 29.

Jones who has scored her second victory on the US women’s college
circuit by winning her college’s open tournament hosted by Oklahoma City
University with rounds of 73 & 72 –a three shot winning margin.

Goodall who has been selected by EWGA for the girl’s team for the
annual match against England boys, which takes place at Woodhall Spa on Sunday,
October 26th.

the Senior Ladies British Open Amateur Championship at Hilton GC,
Templepatrick, N Ireland after a sudden death play-off.

Rachael Goodall who won the JJB Sports MEN Women’s Championship at Marriot
Worsley Park.

Liverpool GC who won the Percival Trophy beating Vale Royal Abbey GC
Charlotte
Wild & Claire Fry who both performed well in the Royal Birkdale Scratch
Trophy. Charlotte scored 74, 73 (147) putting her in third place behind Emma
Brown (143) and Kelly Tidy (144). Claire was one behind with 148, after rounds
of 72 and 76.
August

Clews for a Hole in One in competition at Ashton-on-Mersey GC.
Kate
Rawthore & Bronte Law. Kate returned the Best Net Girls score in the M.E.N
Greater Manchester Junior Open at Sale
her home club. She carded a net 67 off her 25 handicap. Bronte from Bramhall GC
won the Best Gross Girls scoring 74.
The
Cheshire Team who won the scratch team Trophy at the Northern Girls
Championship at Carlisle Golf Club. Team score
Rachael Goodall 75 Bronte Law 75 Gina Brown 78 Total 228. The competition had
to be decided over 18holes due to the weather. Rachael won the
Clement Bowl and the Chairman’s Trophy. Gina came
runner-up in the Chairman’s Trophy. Bronte won the Liverpool
Society of Lady Captain’s Prize and Gemma Clews won the
Best net (80-12- 68) Zoe Evans won the am gross prize with Jade Evans runner-up.
A magnificent performance by all the girls in very difficult conditions. (CSS

Natalie
Lowe & Kate Whitmore who have reached the Quarter-Finals of the English
Women’s Open Mid-Amateur Championship at Wallasey Update. In two very tight
matches unfortunately both Natalie & Kate lost. Natalie took her match to
the 18th and Kate to the 19th.
Charlotte
Wild who qualified for the Matchplay rounds in the British Open
Amateur Championship at Monifieth Golf Club with rounds of 80 & 73.
Unfortunately she was knocked out by Victoria Scherer (Ger) 2/1 in the first
round.
Charlotte
Wild who has reached the final of the English girls Championship
at Durham City.
She played Rachael Goodall in the semis winning 4/3 and plays Sarah Tyson in
the final, who knocked out Gina Brown in the quarter finals. Update Charlotte
unfortunately lost the final to Sarah.
July
Congratulations to: -
Bronte
Law who has qualified for the final round in the English Girls
U13 championship at Ramside G.C. in second spot with rounds of 74 & 78. Update Bronte finished
runner up 3 shots behind the final winner Charley Hull from Northamptonshire.
Rachael
Goodall, Charlotte Wild, Harriet Wilson & Gina Brown who have
all qualified for the Championship matchplay in the English Girl’s at Durham
City G.C. Rachael finished the two round qualifiers on a 149 total which put
her in joint 4th place, closely followed by Charlotte with a total
of 151 in equal 6th place. Harriet & Gina’s scores were 158
& 159 respectively. Update Charlotte, Rachael & Gina are all through to the Quarter
finals
The
Cheshire Team of Charlotte Wild, Rachael Goodall & Laura Jones who won the
Scratch Team Shield at the Northern Ladies Close Championships at Seaton Carew
GC in Durham.
After a re-count, the scores of Charlotte (Mere GC) 144, Rachael (Heswall GC)
149 and Laura (Royal Liverpool GC) 150 totalled 443, which just beat Yorkshire
by one. In the second flight, Gina Brown was the runner up in the Millennium
Bowl and Claire Fry got into the semi-finals but lost to Lauren Smith, who was
the eventual winner, beating Gina.

Yorkshire Team who won the Northern
Division Finals at Arcot Hall. Good luck in the Finals. Also, the Cheshire
Team who were runners up. Well Done.
Rachael
Goodall (Heswall GC) who won the Harper Salver, the Amateur Open
Championship run by the Bristol & District Lady Golf Alliance,
at Bath Golf
Club on Sunday 15th June. She scored 74 gross in the morning and a
magnificent 4 under par round of 70 in the afternoon giving her a total of 144.
This gave her a 1 shot lead over local girl Hannah Barwood (Knowle GC)
May
Congratulations to: -
Charlotte
Wild who together with Gloucester’s Charlotte Ellis has been
picked to represent England in the Nations Cup at the Irish Open Strokeplay Championship
at Elm Park from June 28-29.
Laura
Jones who together with her Oklahoma
City team mates won the NAIA National Championships.
Laura was 2nd best player for her team and finished tied 9th
out of 120 players. Oklahoma City University
Abbie
Cowlard who won the Division 2 Rose Spoon Competition in April with a
magnificent Gross 78 Net 61.
Charlotte
Wild & Kate Whitmore who have qualified for the knockout stages of the
English Women’s Close Amateur Championship at Ganton. Charlotte played rounds
of 76 & 78 to finish in 6th place and Kate, 78 & 80, took
the 14th qualifying place.
Gina
Brown for finishing 3rd in the girls’ event at the Fairhaven
Trophy Tournament. She held the course record after the first round with a 1
under par 74 but was superseded by a fine final round of 5 under par by Alex
Peters who took the title.
The
Balearic Team in winning The Matthew Brown Cup for the second year. Full

GC on the 17th April. Charlotte of Mere GC, Cheshire, combined with
Nicki from Accrington GC, Lancashire, to form a formidable pairing and beat the
experienced players, Sue Warrington of Manchester GC & Christine Stokes of

Podmore returns to action in 2008 after suffering from a wrist injury
and surgery in 2007. With rounds of 72 & 75 in her first event, gaining her

‘Most welcoming Clubhouse of the year 2007’ – an award organised by the trade
magazine Clubhouse.
Stephanie
Farrar is to join 5 other golfers from Scottish universities to
compete on the Florida’s Orange
Blossom Golf Tour this month. Update. Stephanie finished in 31st place at the Oceanside

Baker has been appointed as one of the non-executive directors of
the new English Women’s Golf Association management board. Carolyn is a member
at Bromborough Golf Club and has served on the Cheshire

Whitehead the is
first chairman of the operational board of the new English Women’s Golf
Association, which comes into being on January 1st 2008. The CCLGA
