It is with great sadness that we announce the
sudden death of Liz Pook
There will be a private family cremation, followed by a service of
Thanksgiving (Liz's last round) on 20th December at 1.30pm, All Saints
Church, Church Lane, Scolar Green, Cheshire ST7 3SX.
The family have requested no flowers, with donations please to the
Spinal Injuries Association, 2 Trueman Place, Oldbrook, Milton Keynes, MK6
2HH
November
It is with deep regret , we announce the sad news of the death of
Mrs Carol Comboy O.B.E
Carol was a former County Champion, President of Cheshire, ELGA
and the LGU
and twice Curtis Cup Captain
Funeral is at Walton Lea Crematorium (Near Daresbury) on
Tuesday 27th November at 2.20pm
The family have requested no flowers, with donations going to the
Stroke Association via J C Clarke & Son of Frodsham.

the Final-Qualifying at CaldyGolf Club, has booked her place at the Ricoh
Women's British Open.

Elite Athlete Training Scheme
The project works
with Brio Leisure to offer Elite athletes the chance to gain free access to Gym
and Swim facilities at any of Brio Leisure’s sites (Cheshire West and Chester
Local Authority area only). The criteria for the programme
is:
-The individual
must be competing at a national level or
higher
-The scheme is
available to Juniors and adults
-The individual
must live or attend an educational institution in the Cheshire West and Chester
area
-The sport must be
recognized by Sport England
There is an
application form available on the website should anyone wish to

Barbara Laird who reached the final
of Flight Two in the Senior Womens English Close Amateur Championship at
Tidworth Garrison GC losing to Christine Watson 4/2. Barbara met other
Cheshire qualifier Caroline Berry in the Semi-finals winning 2
up.
Bronte Law for her excellant
performance in the French Junior Open at St Cloud GC near Paris. Having reached
the final, she narrowly lost to the local Celine Boutier by 1down in the 36 hole
championship.

Following the merger of the English Golf Union and the English Women’s
Golf Association on the 1st January 2012 it has been announced that John Petrie
has been appointed as the Chief Executive of the new organisation, England Golf.
